The Girl Scouts of Western New York, a United Way funded agency, continue to demonstrate their commitment to personal development, community involvement, and adherence to the values outlined in the Girl Scout Law. Through various activities and service projects, these young leaders are making an impact in their communities.

Recently, some of the girls participated in a collaborative activity where they worked together to unscramble the words of the Girl Scout Promise. This exercise not only reinforced their understanding of the Promise as a moral and ethical framework but also emphasized the importance of teamwork. The Girl Scout Promise serves as a foundation for personal growth and a commitment to values such as honesty, fairness, friendliness, and respect.

Girls from Troop 10370 took on a leadership role by conducting the flag ceremony at the swearing-in ceremony for the Mayor of Olean. Their participation in this official event highlighted their dedication to civic duty and their ability to represent the values of the Girl Scouts with pride and respect.

Girls from Service Unit 101 Enchanted River Valley demonstrated their compassion and generosity during their Christmas party. Instead of a traditional celebration, they chose to serve others by filling bags with dog food and cat food to donate to Meals on Wheels through the Department of Aging. These donations ensure that clients of Meals on Wheels who have pets can continue to care for their animal companions.

These activities exemplify the mission of the Girl Scouts of Western New York to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. The organization is proud of the dedication and spirit of service shown by its members and looks forward to continuing to support their development as leaders in their communities.
